Planting Ephrem's Tree
These reflections offer a very positive Christian attitude toward the natural world introducing the basic attitudes of incarnational theology from the Eastern Christian tradition, drawing from the creation theology of the 4th century poet and theologian Ephrem the Syrian (303-373).
Jack Phillips, is a modern theologian, naturalist, nature writer, registered arboricultural consultant, director of The Naturalist School, and principal of New Tree School. He also teaches on the faculty of Arboriculture Canada Training and Education and The Woodland School at the Aldo Leopold Foundation. After a career as a humanities professor that took him to the Middle East and North Africa, Jack devoted himself to the study of native North American ecosystems and nature education.
